Vintage books unveiled 18 redeisgn book covers of Vladimir Nabokov’s work. Each of the covers were made with butterfly boxes, pins and paper – due to Nabokov’s love of butterflies. I’m not a huge fan of making classics new again with redesigns especially some of Penguin’s “Couture Classics.” I do like the below designs however.
“The Wish List is a special collection of products that merge time-honored craftsmanship and fresh expression from 27 regions of Japan. Available for one month only at the JAPAN BRAND holiday shop.”
I’m excited to see it all put together. It opens November 23rd and will be there until December 24th.
If you can’t read it they are: 1. Tell the truth (about who you are and to your self), 2. Understand the problem (before you try to solve it), 3. Don’t skimp (on time, resources, etc.), 4. Fads are bad (don’t try to design in a style or incorporate it if it does not feel right), 5. Let a thing be what it is (don’t be like Prince and his symbol) and 6. A little bit of self-delusion goes a long way (look at Right Said Fred’s “I’m too sexy”).
