Went to Creative Mornings with Allan Chochinov of Core 77. He started off the the song “there’s a hole in my bucket.” He related it to our tendency as designers to add more design to cover and patch the flaws if the current solution does not work. He calls this a “cascading sequence of contingencies and consequences.” We as designers need to really understand what the client needs. We need to understand what Henry really needs past the obvious problem of “there is a hole in my bucket.” Good write ups at Soulellis and Design is People.
For when I finally get around to designing mine. I plan on using Minimal Sites for inspiration when I do.
Vintage books unveiled 18 redeisgn book covers of Vladimir Nabokov’s work. Each of the covers were made with butterfly boxes, pins and paper – due to Nabokov’s love of butterflies. I’m not a huge fan of making classics new again with redesigns especially some of Penguin’s “Couture Classics.” I do like the below designs however.
